Microworld: Lincoln
The Microworld: Lincoln Exhibition was an immersive, digital world filled with creatures that you could design, interact, and play with. Taking place between 9 July - 2 October 2022, visitors were able to interact with some of the creatures on their Smartphones. As soon as you walked into the Microworld you started affecting it! Microworlds are spectacular digital worlds or ecosystems that are filled with amazing creatures. Inspired by ecosystems found in nature, these digital creatures have life cycles, energy needs and survival techniques. The creatures responded both to each other and our visitors. You could interact with the creatures or design your very own and release them into the interactive Microworld. As seen at Eureka in 2018 but never-before shown on this scale in the UK, the exhibition was made of 8 different Microworlds for visitors to play with. Like an ecosystem, each of the Microworlds in the gallery created cascades of action and reaction that impact the others, forming part of the wider digital world in the gallery. Below is a gallery of images taken by our visitors who came to the exhibition and interacted with the Microworld.
