Art Talks; is a series of free talks from visiting artist, curators and academics around contemporary and modern art. This is a joint programme from the University of Lincoln and The Collection and Usher Gallery TALKS START AT 3PM, FREE ENTRY, ALL WELCOME
27 January - Tracey McKenna and Edwin Jansen
Artists and curators McKenna and Jansen have collaborated since 1997 in a multidisciplinary art practice. Their works can act as 'conversation pieces', stimulating discussion about a wide subject matter, including life, death, cultural identity, notions of place and visual publishing.
3 February - Lizzie Fisher
An experienced curator, writer and editor with a specialist interest in C20th and contemporary art.
10 February - Lothar Götz
Götz’s practice ranges from site-specific wall paintings and room-sized spatial installations to paintings and drawings. He makes intensely coloured, geometric and architecturally related paintings, informed by the specific circumstances, inhabitants or histories of a place.
17 February - Matthew de Kersaint Giraudeau
Matthew de Kersaint Giraudeau creates sculptures, drawings, performances and films.
24 February - Rose Butler
Rose is an artist researcher and senior lecturer of Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, she works with video, photography, sound, animation and installation. She is currently developing a new piece of work in partnership with Quays Culture and The Lowry; Salford Quays which will be exhibited at The Lowry in January 2016.
2 March - Aid & Abet
Since 2011 Aid & Abet, currently led by Sarah Evans and David Kefford, has delivered a varied programme of exhibitions and events from a project space in Cambridge and a series of offsite projects across the UK.
9 March - Sheila McGregor
Sheila McGregor is an independent curator, art historian and writer.
