Stop Motion Animation for Beginners
A crash course in Stop Motion Animation for ages 9 - 16
Have you ever watched Wallace and Gromit and thought ‘I’d like to try that!’. This workshop is the perfect entry into stop motion animation for beginners. Engage in a crash course of puppet building and the basics of animation with local artist Poppy Brown. Ideal for ages 9-16, android or iphone that supports stop motion apps required.
What to expect:
This workshop is taking place in the Clore Learning room at the Usher Gallery. The Clore learning room is accessible by the entrance of the Usher. To find the Clore learning room, enter the Usher gallery by the glass extension entrance and go to the main door on the left. There are ramps and wide doors to accommodate wheelchairs, and a disabled access toilet oppositive the Clore learning room door, behind the reception desk.
This session will run from 10am till 1pm
In this event you will be invited to create a plasticine model and learn to animate your character using your phone camera and a recommended Stop motion app.
This workshop is aimed at ages 9 - 16. Parents are required to stay with children.
This may be challenging if you have difficulty with hand dexterity but our instructor Poppy will be there to lend a hand. The space may be noisy with other children and adults in the space, if you struggle with loud noises we have noise cancelling head phones and fidget toys available.
