Something Wonderful
Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV) to tell new stories about familiar places, things lost and found, overheard conversations and everyday strangeness.
During 2012, artists Raisin & Willow are working with Lincolnshire One Venues (LOV), a network of ten arts venues across Lincolnshire, to tell new stories about familiar places, inspired by things lost and found, second-hand objects, overheard conversations and everyday strangeness. Discover how we find SOMETHING WONDERFUL in the everyday.
We are interested in what makes a place special, in overlooked and forgotten things, in the ordinary and extraordinary, the mundane and magical. We have been wandering round towns in Lincolnshire, getting lost and finding things, crossing bridges and meadows, frequenting charity shops and cafés, going through doorways and down alleyways. We have been charting these places and drawing our own maps of the things that we notice, the strange places and the special places. We have been eavesdropping, chatting to strangers, finding the best place to buy a bun, loitering and hanging around, picking things up, peering into windows. We want to tell the story of a place through the scraps and fragments we have collected, the sights and sounds and bits and bobs we have gathered on our way.
Something Wonderful - An exhibition of Print is also open at the Usher Gallery from the 5-28th November 2012.
