‘Take a line for a walk’ - Hand embroidery workshop
Learn & practice a wealth of hand embroidery techniques, as you allow the threads to take an embroidered line for a walk across your fabric.
Be inspired by your surroundings, and enjoy the creative freedom of a blank canvas.
In advance of the Usher Gallery’s exhibition ‘Walk the Line’, which looks at artists who have taken the act of walking the land as their creative guide, this one day workshop invites you to enjoy the creative freedom to learn, practice, and explore hand embroidery stitches, in the beauty of the gallery’s rooms.
Whether you take inspiration for thread colour from one specific painting, or embroidered stitches follow the brush lines of a particular artwork - or the entire gallery inspires your direction ....... indulge your creativity, and create a work of art of your own.
£54 for the full day workshop (10:30am - 4:30pm)
All threads, fabric & equipment are supplied, including a 10” embroidery hoop to work with and keep as an instant frame for your work, or use again for your next inspired project…
Work both in the Usher Gallery and our own workspace.
Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Tuition tailored to your skill level will ensure you produce something to be proud of.
