Sew at The Collection
Design and create a hand stitched patchwork panel (approx 16” square – perfect cushion size!) Take inspiration from the Usher Gallery's exhibit ‘Tide’ by Stuart Haygarth.
Using a selection of neutral coloured fabrics, explore texture, light, shade and pattern. Design a patchwork piece, create your own templates, and hand stitch your choices of fabric together to produce a personal project to be proud of.
Bring with you fabrics that speak to you, and create a personal work of art.
Select predominantly neutral coloured fabrics – whites, greys, creams – things that inspire – combine old and new – pieces from no-longer worn cherished clothing, household linens, lace, buy new pieces that you love …. if you love it use it!
Pins, sewing threads, needles and paper for templates etc, and refreshments are included.
Work both in the Usher Gallery and our own workspace.
Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Tuition tailored to your skill level will ensure you produce something to be proud of.
