Resonating Museum Walls: Sonic Interventions
Date: Thursday, 25 July Time: 6pm - 8pm
Location: Lincoln Museum, Danes Terrace, Lincoln, LN2 1LP

Join us for the grand finale of the ‘Sound Considered Museum’ project, an evening that will transform Lincoln Museum into an immersive soundscape.

"Resonating Museum Walls: Sonic Interventions” invites you to experience our collection through an immersive auditory lens, challenging traditional perceptions of museum spaces. This unique event features performances and installations by artists Annie Morad, Harriet Plewis and Sandra Kazlauskaite with an overarching soundscape provided by GUYZ. As you wander through the museum, you'll discover how sound can alter your perception of familiar spaces and artefacts, offering new insights into our exhibits.

"Resonating Museum Walls" is the culmination of a year-long series of interventions curated by Dr. Sandra Kazlauskaite. The Sound Considered Museum project, funded by the British Academy and supported by the University of Lincoln in collaboration with Lincoln Museum, explores the role of sound in gallery spaces. It challenges us to engage with museums as multi-sensory sites, shifting focus from the purely visual to a more holistic sensory experience.

Dr. Sandra Kazlauskaite shares her excitement about the event: "This evening represents the culmination of our year-long exploration into the auditory dimensions of museum experiences. We're inviting visitors to reimagine the museum as a living, breathing, and most importantly, sounding space. It's an opportunity to engage with our cultural heritage in a completely new way, opening up possibilities for more inclusive and multi-sensory interactions with art and history."

A bar will be available throughout the evening, serving a selection of cold and hot drinks to complement your experience.
