Really? A Dig on a Council Estate?
A pop-up expo exploring the discoveries spanning 800 years made by local residents taking part in an archaeological dig on a post-war council estate.
Everyone is welcome to this pop-up expo. Explore the surprising discoveries spanning 800 years made by local residents taking part in an archaeological dig on a post-war council estate in Lincolnshire. Find out what the dig revealed about its history and why it matters, and contribute your own memories of childhood play and ideas about social housing.
Drop-in to talk to dig participants, explore the wall-mounted photo-narrative and finds display, take part in a hands-on mock excavation and win prizes in games including archaeological bingo and a table-top finds-hunt.
This event is part of the ‘Moving Stories: Discovering Lives Lived Differently’ festival hub organised by the University of Lincoln.
