The Lincolnshire Artists' Society is delighted to be back at The Usher Gallery, this October for it's second exhibition of the year.
Lincolnshire Artists' Society Exhibtion at the Usher Gallery
Sunday 6 October 2024 until Sunday 5 January 2025. Free entry, Thursday to Monday from 10am to 4pm.
The Lincolnshire Artists’ Society (LAS) first exhibited at The Usher Gallery in 1927 and has exhibited there many times over the years, but it is always a very special occasion for its members. We truly belive that talent is home grown and is not bound by where you develop that talent. Lincolnshire is a vibrant, exciting and important hub for new talent and our ability to show at the Usher Gallery and around the country is a vitally important part of the worldwide art conversation.
LAS members have responded with their customary passion and enthusiasm to this years submission process. Selected works reflect not only a multitude of individual approaches, skills and concerns, but also a shared committed interest in importance of quality and the valuable endeavour of personal creative enquiry. There are many journeys and perspectives here - the display includes inner and outer worlds, local contexts and ones which are much further afield. An artists practice is a living creature; it needs care and nourishment and it always reflects change. Over the years, we as members, witness each others growth and development. Artists rarely stay still as they respond to the complex and curious navigation of life.
With this in mind, the society has recently worked closely with The Usher on an exciting initiative which allows artists to engage with visitors in the exhibition space. The Saturday afternoon programme which involves members taking 'pop up' residence will run for the length of the exhibition. The aim is to showcase artists' working processes and also to promote the society and it's links with the gallery and museum. For the full programme please see the list below.
The majority of works featured in the exhibition are for sale. Prices and details can be found in the catalogue of works available in the gallery, or from the reception.
