LAS pop up residency Karin Christensen

As part of the 2024 Lincolnshire Artists’ Society exhibition at the Usher Gallery ten members are taking up residence in the gallery space on Saturdays throughout the run of the exhibition. The artists will show samples, display methods and techniques, talk to visitors about their own practice and their involvement with LAS during these pop up residencies.

Saturday 12 October 2024, Karin Christensen, Galleries 5 & 7 from 12.30pm – 3.30pm. Free entry.

This Saturday Karin Christensen will be taking up residence in the Usher Gallery within the LAS exhibition. Karin will be demonstrating her ink and watercolour painting style. She uses fluid inks to create strong lines, and mixes these with watercolours.
During this residency, she will be painting a woodland scene, focussing on creating texture and achieving a feeling of light in her work. You are welcome to watch, ask questions and browse more of her artwork and sketchbooks.

Karin likes to paint on location such as landscapes, city scenes and seascapes and says watercolours and inks are her favourite materials. She is originally Norwegian but has lived in the UK for 30 years, mainly based in Lincolnshire. Karins background is in graphic design, keeping her love of drawing. Her work often features prominent line work within her artworks. Karin exhibits in the UK and in Norway and even teaches watercolour classes in the UK and abroad. She is a member of Lincolnshire Artists’ Society and of the Boston and Kirton art groups.
