As part of the 2024 Lincolnshire Artists’ Society exhibition at the Usher Gallery ten members are taking up residence in the gallery space on Saturdays throughout the run of the exhibition. The artists will show samples, display methods and techniques, talk to visitors about their own practice and their involvement with LAS during these pop-up residencies.

Saturday 14 December 2024, Jeanette Killner, Galleries 5 & 7 from 12.30 - 3.30pm. Free entry.

This Saturday Jeanette Killner will be taking up residence in the Usher Gallery within the LAS exhibition. During the residency Jeanette will be working on the components needed to assemble a 3D dodecahedron. Admire the various stages of making a piece of work, from the untreated metal obtained from aluminium cans and the initial drawings, through to a variety of finished items. Observe a range of examples of folding, cutting, embossing and decorating techniques which can be achieved with the basic hand tools that she uses. Observe and discuss her range of techniques and methods.

Jeanette Killner moved to Lincoln in 1974 as a weaver, having completed a degree in Printed and Woven Textiles. During the 1990’s she developed skills across a range of materials to support the teaching she did, and in 2005 completed an MA: Design experimenting with techniques to apply surface design to wood, metal and ceramics. Jeanette has exhibited for many years independently, and with the Contemporary Craft Network during its existence, joining The Lincolnshire Artists Society in 2020.
