Impossible Cities
“Intelligence is the ability of a living creature to perform pointless or unnatural acts.” [Arkady Strugatsky, Roadside Picnic]
Impossible Cities is the culmination of a week-long collaborative workshop between young artists from Lincolnshire and Lincoln art collective General Practice. Through experimental techniques in collage, photography sculpture and sound, artists have been invited to collaborate and create their own mixed-media model cities.
Lincoln Art Summer School explored model making without constraints of scale or realism giving artists the opportunity to play with perspective and materials using components that are easily identified in architecture put together in an abstract way.
