Danelaw Saga: How the Vikings shaped the East Midlands
Join Dr Roderick Dale from the University of Nottingham for an archaeological lunchtime lecture
The Anglo Scandinavian period is one of the most fascinating in English history, but also one of the most difficult to understand and interpret, with myths and popular misconceptions often obscuring the real history of the period. In this lecture, Dr Dale will be examining the Viking impact on the East Midlands and looking ahead to the major upcoming exhibition 'Bringing Vikings back to the East Midlands', to be held at the Djanogly Gallery in Nottingham between 14th December 2017 and 8th April 2018.
Dr Roderick Dale is Cultural Engagement Fellow at the University of Nottingham.
This talk is part of our ongoing Lunchtime Lectures series. It will be held in the auditorium at The Collection, starting at 12.30 and lasting for approximately 30 minutes.
Tickets cost £3 per person, available from the museum reception desk.
