Cyanotype Workshop
Explore the magical process of Cyanotype or Blueprint printing with artist John Pearson.
Cyanotype Workshop (Printing without a darkroom) will accompany the exhibition Colour Love currently running at The Usher Gallery.
Originally developed in the 19th century as a non-fade photographic process, it became better known as a method of reproducing engineering and architectural plans. Cyanotype can now be used to create hand-made photographs and images on a variety of surfaces. You will learn how to create your own prints from digital images or drawings.
Basic materials will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring along digital images (as jpegs or tiffs) - to be printed onto acetate or tracing paper to create full-sized negatives for contact printing onto prepared paper.
The workshop will run from 1.00pm to 3.45pm and is for everyone over 16 years. Booking is essential, places limited to 14. Price: £ 10.50/£7.00 concessions.
