Collision

An exhibition of new work created by MA Fine Art students from the University of Lincoln in the Courtyard Gallery

Collision - The action of colliding or forcibly striking or dashing together; violent encounter of a moving body with another (Oxford English Dictionary).

Over 20 students from the MA degree in Fine Art from the University of Lincoln have been invited to create a contemporary art response to an existing item of their choice currently on display within The Collection or the Usher Gallery.

The result of that unique opportunity is the exhibition Collision which opens in The Courtyard Gallery on the 18th May and runs until the 23rd June 2019.

This exciting challenge has allowed students the opportunity to work in collaboration with one another, as well as with the gallery space itself. The artworks on display illustrate the varied and individual responses of each of the contributing artists and offers visitors a rare opportunity to view these items in a new and unique way.
