British Art: From Egg to Bacon, a lecture by Lydia Bauman

An illustrated talk by Lydia Bauman organised by the Usher Gallery Trust.

Lydia Bauman considers a selection of everyday themes in art, as seen through the British eye, from Victorian times to the 20th century.  Join her for a fascinating journey through British art.  The lecture is followed by refreshments included in the ticket price.

Lydia Bauman was born in Poland and moved to Britain where she studied fine art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, and the history of art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.  Lydia worked as an art reviewer for BBC Radio External Services.  She lectures at several adult education institutions in London as well as numerous art galleries, including the National Gallery.  Lydia is a landscape painter, where her interest is in how form is defined by light.  She paints de-populated landscapes, marked by a structure formed by the human hand, or through Lydia's own compositional elements.

Tickets £10, including drinks and canapes.
