August Friday Lates
Join us every Friday in August when our museum will open until 8pm for a fun filled evening!
Throughout August every Friday The Collection museum is staying open until 8 pm to give visitors more opportunities to visit the Wildlife Photography Exhibition as well as see our permanent collections and each evening will be complimented by a host of special events, workshops, activities, food, drink and live music.
Friday 6th August
We will be joined by chainsaw carving artist Sarah Mitchell who will be doing carving demonstrations and have a range of sculptures for sale.
We will also be joined by Twisted Food and Lincoln Gin who will be providing pop up food and drink bars and you can sit back and enjoy live music from local musician Sarah Hughes.
Friday 13th August
Friday the 13th August is lucky if you are after an fun evening for the family.
There will be free wildlife themed activities, a free film screening as well chance to come meet and greet birds of prey from the Lincoln Owl Rescue, we will also have face painting and will be joined by Ritchies Vintage Ice Cream and Candy Karts for your popcorn and candyfloss for your film viewing!
Friday 20th August
We will be offering two exclusive workshops and talks for budding landscape photographers and bee-keepers!
Keith James will be running an adult Landscape Photography workshop, spaces are limited so booking is essential. The event runs from 6-9pm and is £15 per person. This event includes tea/coffee, entry to the exhibition, a one hour photography session and one hour looking at photographs and sharing learning. Please bring your own camera and equipment.
If bees are more your thing, learn a little more about the wonderful world of bees, beekeeping and the flowers that help them thrive in Lincolnshire in this illustrated talk by Multi Award Winning Beekeeper, Simon Croson. Tickets for the talk are £5 or why not combine the talk and exhibition for the special deal of £9.00, booking is advisable.
We will also have pop up drink bar from Lincoln Gin and throughout the evening we will have live music from local musician Belle Woodland in our Orientation Hall to sit and enjoy!
Friday 27th August
We round up our Friday Lates with a Family Friendly Evening with free Wildlife themed activities, we will be joined by Lincoln Owl Rescue and their impressive range of birds of prey which you can meet for free, there will also be face painting and glitter tattoos and balloon modelling available!
Entry to the museum is free, but you can also book to visit the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.
