Games: Enter the Unknown

The exhibition “The Games: Enter the Unknown” ran from 20 July 2024, to 13 October 2024. It delved into the connections between ancient games, board games, and contemporary tabletop role-playing games. The exhibition was designed as a game, allowing visitors to roll the dice and engage with the exhibits. Visitors could create a character, play board games, design a world, or participate in “Roll for Art,” an ongoing artwork by Laura Mabbut. Nottingham-based queer art collective Moonbuns showcased their digital artwork within the exhibition. The exhibition also featured costumes on display each week, with a total of 16 costumes created by incredible makers from Lincolnshire. The games events programme included various activities for gaming enthusiasts such as late-night openings, free Sunday screenings, live DnD play sessions, a cardboard cosplay workshop, and a “Roll for Inspiration” workshop with Laura Mabbutt.
