Lunchtime Lectures return!

The Collection's popular archaeological lecture series is returning with a slightly new format.  For those who haven't been along to any of the lectures before, they are friendly illustrated talks by museum staff and local experts on a range of archaeological subjects, which are held once a month on a Friday lunchtime and last approximately 30 minutes - perfect for adding a little dollop of archaeological interest to your lunch break. The talks are all aimed at non-specialists so don't fear!  If you are interested in archaeology, the talks aim to open up a world of fascinating sites, finds, interpretation and recent research from Lincolnshire and beyond.

Previous series have been in themed groups of 6 talks (for example on Roman Emperors with British connections, Classical mythology, or recent research into 'Dark Age' Lincolnshire) but the new talks will be more flexible and simply take the form of monthly talks on changing subjects. We hope that this will be an even more stimulating format, and give us an opportunity to host lectures on a wider range of subjects and time periods than ever before.

All of the lectures are held in The Collection's auditorium and begin at 12.30.  Tickets cost £3 (except the 8th April lecture, which is free entry), and are available from the museum reception desk. Please note that tickets are available on a first come, first served basis.
