Medals are a wonderful source of historic information, and many are miniature works of art.  Our collection of roughly 1,100 medals at The Collection includes examples from the 17th Century to the modern day, and features events and commemorations from world, British and Lincolnshire history.  Medals have been produced to celebrate and commemorate events as diverse as Royal weddings, funerals, great battles and military victories, election triumphs, scandals, artistic and engineering feats, and the foundation of nations.

Over the past year, we have been working to take new images of our entire collection, and to improve the information about them available on our Lincs to the Past online database.  Through the images above, you can begin to explore just a small selection of the variety of wonderful imagery and political propaganda that these medals contain.
